This time we are hosting the Danish connection: Nixxon – who is no less than the tower on the chessboard of the cosmic disco scene and Boogie Rookie, who established a well-curated italo disco party in his hometown Copenhagen. We believe in the positive force of music and can’t wait for our guests to bring their vinyl gems. Of course Hendrik Stein & Frinda di Lanco will frame the night with their newly-found tunes.

FRIEDRICHSHAIN, BERLIN – Queer cabaret Pangæa takes place every 2nd Friday of the month at Crack Bellmer.

Pangæa premiered in the summer of 2012 in LA. It quickly grew into a creative stronghold of the city, hosting monthly events and performing at cultural festivals in the surrounding area and beyond, while educating thousands on consent practices.

Each month, a new band of lipstick thespians assembles at Crack Bellmer, a nightclub in RAW Gelände within the heart of Friedrichshain, a 10 minute walk from Warschauer Station with step-free access inside.

Doors open at 18:00 to a small art gallery and marketplace that guests can enjoy while relaxing in the rustic, well-ventilated hall or cozy outdoor smoking terrace.

The show begins at 19:00 and features a break midway through.

Showcasing established and emerging Berlin talent, it is the culmination of a month-long collaborative process and features drag kings, queens and things, burlesque performers of all body types, musicians and circus people. Pangæa values difference and strives to prioritize Black and indigenous, disabled, fat, migrant and otherwise multiply-marginalized artists.

Pangæa is both mother and child to drag king astrophysicist HP Loveshaft. Since arriving in Berlin, this powerhouse of performance has featured on stages around the city and across Europe, producing solo shows and appearing in larger ensembles at Festspiele, Volksbühne and SO36.

Born in Moscow to Jewish Ukranian chemists, this trans-atlantic transsexual recently turned to spirituality, channeling his colorful collage of experience into mad prophecy. Having traveled across the cosmos, he returns to the ruins of this world bearing bad news: no one is coming to save us.

With support from the Fonds Darstellende Künste and the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media, he began a Sodomite Cult with which he hopes to save himself and then perhaps others. Pangæa is part of that story.

This special edition of WEDNESDAYs hosted by SHINE A LIGHT is dedicated to the passioned and soulful side of HOUSE music. PiliJo invited no other than the DJ and producer HDSN and her fellow DJ, friend and music collector lol_jennon to join her and celebrate the power of heartfelt house music.

Ask any electronic music producer worth their salt and they’ll all tell you the same thing: soul truly is at the heart of what makes music so special. One man who encapsulates this feeling is Michael Bihler aka HDSN. From disco to house to jazz to hip-hop, the owner of the aptly-titled NBAST (NUTHIN BUT A SOUL THING) label is an individual whose sound is always well versed in uplifting vibes and dancefloor dynamics.

lol_jennons sound is influenced by Chicago House, Detroit Techno, and Garage House of the 90s, as well as Soul and Disco Edits. His pulsating, energetic DJ sets include all of this, occasionally flirting with some 80s references to Hi-NRG Disco. In his own words: “it is simply Nerdy Dancing!“. In his vinyl sets he blends clean mixing craftsmanship and soulful deepness into a powerful, body-oriented musical experience.

PiliJos joyous style will just round up the evening held by those other two serious house heads.
