Lights ON

Als Eröffnung in einer Serie von Veranstaltungen über Licht und deren Macher präsentiert Rico Tscharntke seine Arbeit im Crack Bellmer. Allgemein ist Lichtgestaltung in hoher Achtung des Publikums, aber die Köpfe dahinter befinden sich kaum im Rampenlicht. Dies wird nun verändert.

Der Lichtkünstler ist aktiv in diesem Arbeitsfeld seit 2006. Seine Spezialität sind Videoinstallationen. Er gestaltete damit Dancefloors auf Festivals und Clubs seitdem und berichtet über das besondere Gefühl, die Knöpfe und Regler im Takt der Musik zu bewegen um die Gäste in einen gemeinsamen Rhythmus zu verschieben.

Anderer Schwerpunkt der Veranstaltung wird die Präsentation von Lichtkunst sein. Sein Schwerpunkt ist dabei seine Arbeit mit volumetrischen Bildschirmen. Er ist offen für Fragen in einem familiären Zusammenhang. Eintritt ist frei und wird durch ein musikalisches Programm durch Paul Pattern umrahmt. Die beiden arbeiten seit Jahren zusammen, bei der Präsentation der Symbiose von Licht und Klang. As an opening in a series of events about light and its makers, Rico Tscharntke presents his work at Crack Bellmer.

Light design is highly valued by the audience, but the minds behind it are hardly in the spotlight. This is now changing.

The light artist has been active in this field since 2006. His specialty is video installations, with which he has designed dance floors at festivals and clubs since then, and he reports on the special feeling of moving buttons and knobs in time with the music to move the guests into a common rhythm.

Another focus of the event will be the presentation of light art. His focus will be on his work with volumetric screens. He is open to questions in a familiar context. Admission is free and will be accompanied by a musical program by Paul Pattern. The two have been working together for years, presenting the symbiosis of light and sound.

Dogs & Vultures Bassement

Utopyk & El Fulminador is a Berlin-based DJ/producer duo with Spanish and Latin American origins.
As producers, Utopyk & El Fulminador love to mix all kind of styles, from house and new beat to Dark Disco. Their bass lines, vocals and percussion rhythms are their hallmark. They are also famous for their own label, Fulmen Records for which they reserve his original work and their performance videos. They have published remixes on some of the most recognized labels on the scene, such as Ombra Intl. or ROAM Recordings.

Kike am Radar is a German producer based in the city of Dresden with a Dj residence at Club Paula on the same city. He also has numerous releases and remixes published on recognized labels on the scene: Nein Records, Ninefont or Emerald & Doreen and of course, on Dogs & Vultures Records, the label that has supported him since 2017, and where he released his first album on 12'' Vinyl “In Vain EP”, And it has been remixed by artists such as Montcosmik, Vox Low or Damon Jee among others.
As a DJ and Producer his music is characterized by warm organic basses and ''drone'' guitars.

We have the dj mixes of Kike am Radar and Habits of Waste, (headline of the label and dj and producer with experience of more than 15 years on the dance floors around the world), to liven up the Bar and the club night, and we will enjoy the performance of Utopyk & El Fulminator around 1:00.

Pangæa: Groundbreaking

FRIEDRICHSHAIN, BERLIN – Queer cabaret Pangæa takes place every 3rd Friday of the month at Crack Bellmer.

Pangæa premiered in the summer of 2012 in LA. It quickly grew into a creative stronghold of the city, hosting monthly events and performing at cultural festivals in the surrounding area and beyond, while educating thousands on consent practices.

Each month, a new band of lipstick thespians assembles at Crack Bellmer, a nightclub in RAW Gelände within the heart of Friedrichshain, a 10 minute walk from Warschauer Station with step-free access inside. Revaler Str. 99, 10245

Doors open at 18:00 to a small art gallery and marketplace that guests can enjoy while relaxing in the rustic, well-ventilated hall or cozy outdoor smoking terrace.

The show begins at 19:00 and features a break midway through. Showcasing established and emerging Berlin talent, it is the culmination of a month-long collaborative process and features drag kings, queens and things, burlesque performers of all body types, musicians and circus people. Pangæa values difference and strives to prioritize Black and indigenous, disabled, fat, migrant and otherwise multiply-marginalized artists.

Pangæa is both mother and child to drag king astrophysicist HP Loveshaft. Since arriving in Berlin, this powerhouse of performance has featured on stages around the city and across Europe, producing solo shows and appearing in larger ensembles at Festspiele, Volksbühne and SO36.

Born in Moscow to Jewish Ukranian chemists, this trans-atlantic transsexual recently turned to spirituality, channeling his colorful collage of experience into mad prophecy. Having traveled across the cosmos, he returns to the ruins of this world bearing bad news: no one is coming to save us. With support from the Fonds Darstellende Künste and the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media, he began a Sodomite Cult with which he hopes to save himself and then perhaps others. Pangæa is part of that story.
